We are moving house soon and a garage sale is looking very likely. They are a great way to get rid of the clutter – and cost less time and money than listing the items individually for sale on the local classified and auction websites. The down side is that people love to start early and even if you clearly state you are not opening until 9am you will have people knocking on your door two hours earlier!
You need to be organized if you are going to run a garage sale. I’d particularly make sure that you have lots of small change – as people will be paying with cash! If you have electronic items for sale – make sure there is a power source that people can plug them into to check them out.
If you lay stuff out an present it well you will probably get a better price for items at your garage sale
